NYC Light Snow Possible Tomorrow Little To No Accumulation
Good morning everyone. We are neck deep in activity as we approach mid-February, and it seems as if that active pattern may continue towards the end of the month. It doesn’t always equate into big snows and sometimes doesn’t equate to anything at all, but we’re keeping an eye on every opportunity that may become something throughout this period. As of now, we are watching 3 features coming up.
SATELLITE
Today we get a little bit of a break. It’s going to be hard getting the clouds out of the area with system after system, but we may see a few blue patches today mixed in with the clouds. It’ll be dry and cold with highs in the upper 20’s to low 30’s. Overnight we cloud up with mid 20’s ahead of our next feature tomorrow.
F5 WEATHER RADARS
Look for the possibility of some light snow tomorrow, but most of energy is going well south of us. Areas balancing that mid-Atlantic line across Maryland, southern PA, Delaware, Virginia, and southern NJ, could see a 1-3/2-4″ type snowfall. For us, expect little to no accumulation (zero to a coating or so). Highs in the low to mid 30’s tomorrow.
The second part of our two-part system is essentially kaput and won’t have much moisture to work with. We should see some morning clouds Friday, the slight chance of a flurry, then brightening skies. Highs in the upper 20’s to near 30.
Saturday looks dry and cold, but clouds will increase late with near 30 temps again. This will be our 3rd feature in 4 days, and this one will reach the Northeast. That being said, the NYC and Long Island area may see some rain/snow line issues. Until something shows me otherwise, I’m going with snow changing to a mix or rain on Sunday, with maybe a dusting to an inch before the changeover.
As of now, this doesn’t look like a powerful system, so even if it stayed all snow, it’s looking like another 1-3/2-4″ type event.
