NYC LONG RANGE ACTIVE PERIOD RESUMES FOR MAY
NYC LONG RANGE ACTIVE PERIOD RESUMES FOR MAY – Good foggy morning everyone! The gloom has returned for an encore, but things should clear out by mid to late afternoon in most places. If we can just get some sun, we should see temps soar quickly into upper 60’s (coast) to mid 70’s (inland). Showers and storms return tonight and should be with us until before midnight, then we’ll have some partial clearing tomorrow late morning and increasing winds. Highs tomorrow will be 70-75, but it’ll feel cooler with the strong breeze.
Temps really cool down on Wednesday as the wind machine continues, but the sun will be on full display as dry air makes its complete return, highs in the low 60’s. Clouds begin to increase on Thursday as our next system begins to make its approach, highs again in the low 60’s. Steady rain moves in Thursday night and should be with us for most of the day on Friday, highs will continue to be in the low 60’s. Widely scattered showers and clouds will stick around for Saturday and Sunday looks to be the best day of the weekend as we dry out once again. Highs both days will once again be in the low to mid 60’s, but Sunday will feel warmer with the May sun.
In the long range, activity ramps up with the rise of the system parade again on the west coast. We will have a few milder days, but the prospect of another cut-off low in the 2nd week of May looms. If this happens, cool air, clouds, and scattered showers will plague the area for several days on end. At this point, it seems as if we are stuck in this pattern for a few weeks. Stay tuned as we work it all out and figure out where we might see a warm day here and there.
