THUNDERSTORMS DEPART LEAVING NYC WARMTH – Good morning everyone! The last weekend of April is here and we close it out in true April Jekyl & Hyde fashion; with one very warm day, and one cool day.
For those who live on the extreme south shore of Long Island, we got rocked this morning with a nice thunderstorm containing torrential rain and frequent cloud to ground lightning. That is all gone though now and after some morning fog, we’ll have temps in the low to mid 80’s in the NYC area, mid 70’s at the immediate shore.
For tomorrow, a back door cold front sags across the area and we’ll be back down to the upper 50’s to low 60’s with a cool easterly breeze. For the next few days, we play this game as the front transits back and forth over the area, giving us showers, storms, and a transition back to slightly warmer air, before things dry out mid-week and a return to normal temps for early May.
