NYC March Stumbles Into April
Good morning everyone. “In like a lion, out like a lamb” is the saying of how March can be, but it’s rare in the NYC area to experience that. We’re definitely not going out like a lamb, nor are we going out like a lion. Maybe out like a slug? Leaving a trail a goo behind us?
SATELLITE
Clouds will be tough to get rid of today, but we should see a few patches of blue. The sun won’t be strong enough to work the atmosphere, so that should hold down the intensity of any widely scattered showers. Highs today will be in the 55-60 range, but on the lower end of that spectrum if the sunshine remains at a minimum.
REGIONAL RADAR
Tomorrow is a repeat, but with slightly cooler temps as a NE breeze takes hold. Expect the slight chance of some showers, with highs near 50.
Wednesday remains looking mostly cloudy but dry, and highs near 50 again.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
Thursday through Sunday look like the best stretch as we slowly and sort-of climb out of this funk. Look for sun & clouds throughout the period, with highs in the 55-60 range.
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
Our long range continues to hold strong, with fast moving systems trekking across the Country. The lower Midwest has some issues with severe weather, which is typical this time of year, but it remains hard to find any prolonged mild air for the Northeast.
Eventually it’ll break, but that early April break I was looking for has collapsed. Our next chance will be mid-April, and we’ll see how that goes. It doesn’t mean we won’t see a mild day here, but don’t look for 3-4 mild days strung together anytime soon.
MANY THANKS TO TROPICAL TIDBITS FOR THE USE OF MAPS
