NYC Medium Range Remains Iffy Springlike Long Range
Good morning everyone. Showery conditions are heading towards the NYC/Long Island area as we speak, but at least we have 2 mild days back to back. More seasonable temps return on Tuesday and for the remainder of the week.
SATELLITE
Cloudy skies have already happened here, and showers are knocking not he door. Look for scattered showers today with highs mid to upper 60’s. If someone gets some blue patches later, some of those spots may see near 70 temps. Expect cooler conditions by the immediate shore, and gusty winds overall for everyone.
We’ll repeat the same tomorrow, but maybe some enhanced rain amounts if it can hold together.
WEATHER RADAR
Tuesday is sunny and cooler with highs near 50, then clouds increase again on Wednesday. We may see a few showers and highs will struggle to reach 50. Near 50/low 50’s return on Thursday and Friday.
We continue to watch next weekend to see if a piece-meal system can organize and take advantage of colder air coming in. Right now I’m holding off on any specifics, but models are holding onto hope for some frozen precip in the Northeast. I don’t see anything major right now for the NYC area, but if it holds together and the timing is right, we could see some parting flakes.
While we remain active, the long range is looking fairly spring-like, with more systems heading into the Great Lakes. What we’re seeing right now is a typical early March pattern passing the torch to a typical mid to late March pattern.
