NYC Mid Late Morning Rain Thundershowers Approaching
Good morning everyone. As I type this, we are sandwiched in between a batch of showers to our east, showers to our south, and the main line of precip off to our west. That puts us in a quiet spot for now, but we should see some decent rain out of this system shortly. Your weekend is looking much cooler, and mild air still seems to be a brief possibility later next week.
SATELLITE
Skies will remain mostly cloudy today with a muggy and windy mid to upper 60’s. We’ll see some scattered, fast moving showers developing this morning, then heavier rain/T-showers late morning onward. There are a few spots that concern me for flash flooding, and the best chance to see that will be NW NJ.
WEATHER RADAR
We clear out tomorrow and have mostly sunny skies. Highs will be in the mid to upper 50’s for a much cooler day. A spoke of energy thanks to low pressure spinning well north of us, will move through some time between 1 and 4pm tomorrow. This will spark off a very thin and very brief line of showers and maybe even a rumble. Areas upstate may see some mixing with wet snow or graupel as atmospheric cooling takes place during the precip. Then we quickly go sunny again as of nothing happened.
Sunday remains looking quiet and seasonably cool, with sunshine and highs in the near 50 range.
Next week starts off on a seasonably cool note, with more sunshine and near 50 temps in the NYC Metro Area. Best chance to see some mild air will be on Thursday, and how mild we go will depend on front timing, cloud cover, and winds.
