NYC MID WEEK COLD SHOT PRECEDES MILD SATURDAY
NYC MID WEEK COLD SHOT PRECEDES MILD SATURDAY – Good morning everyone! We have some cold air on the way, and some warmer air on the way, but first we have two nice days ahead. Today will be a beautiful, sunny day, with a breezy morning, winds lightening up in the afternoon, and highs in the low to mid 50’s. Overnight, we cloud up a bit as a weak disturbance passes on by. We’ll have a slight chance of some light rain in the area after midnight and into tomorrow morning. We’ll also have cloudy skies in the morning and some partial clearing in the afternoon, highs in the mid 50’s.
Overnight tomorrow, cold air moves back in and we’ll only see highs in the low to mid 30’s Wednesday with windy conditions. On Thursday, the cold continues, with highs in the upper 30’s to low 40’s. After that, we begin a transition period as a new system approaches the area. Friday, a warm front enters the picture, sun and clouds, highs in he mid to upper 40’s. There doesn’t look to be much precip associated with it for us, and temperatures don’t look as if they’ll drop much overnight Friday, so any chance of mixed precip is essentially gone and most of the rain will go to our north.
Saturday, warm air moves in but there are still questions as to how much. This time of year, warm fronts have a hard time making it well past our area. Plus, the cold ocean temps will have an influence along the immediate. We need to see how much sun we get and what the final wind direction will be, two important factors locally this time of year. As of now, if we remain cloudy, temps will be 55-65 degrees; but if the warm front pushes well past us and we can break out in some sun, 65-75 (cooler at the beaches) is certainly not out of the question.
Stay tuned as we watch how much warmth makes it into the area.
NYC MID WEEK COLD SHOT PRECEDES MILD SATURDAY – Beautiful day today as a week system transits the area from the Great Lakes overnights.
Radar is quiet this morning and will remain so until a few scattered light showers wnter the picture late tonight.
