COOL QUIET NYC SCATTERED WARMER DAYS AHEAD
COOL QUIET NYC SCATTERED WARMER DAYS AHEAD – Good morning everyone! We’re waking up to a non March-like day. Yesterday’s system that brought us a cold, damp day of mixed precip, has helped filter down cool air to give us a breezy, unseasonably cool day once again. Clouds and sun will be with us throughout much of the day, highs in the mid 40’s.
Full sun returns for tomorrow and temps will reach near 50, but a cool breeze will make it feel a lot colder. Tuesday will be the nicest day of the work week, with light winds and highs in the low 50’s. Unfortunately, another reinforcing shot of cold air moves in overnight, giving us a cold Wednesday and Thursday, with sunny and breezy conditions; highs in the mid to upper 30’s.
On Friday, another system begins to approach the area, possibly giving us another brief period of mixed precip before changing to rain, highs in the mid 40’s. Overnight Friday, we should start to transition to the warmer sector of this system. We have to wait to see how much warm air works in, but it’s possible on Saturday we could see temps between 55-65; maybe even higher if we can squeeze out a few peeks of sun. However, the warm air come at the cost of considerable cloudiness and a threat of showers through the day. Next Sunday we cool off again, with windy conditions and a drop back to slightly below normal temps.
In the long range, another system will approach the area in piece-meal after next Sunday. Depending on the final path, we could either find ourselves looking at unseasonably warm air and temps 65-70 mid week that week; or we could be facing another round of mixed precip to rain and below normal temps. Either way, with the passage of that system, April looks to be starting off below normal and active weather continues.
