NYC MILD SATURDAY HOLDING BUT NOT TO FULL POTENTIAL
Good morning everyone. Milder air creeps in today and replaces the chilly air we’ve had the past couple of days in the NYC area. Meanwhile, tomorrow and Saturday remain looking mild, but remaining conservative all week on the numbers was the right way to go.
EASTERN SATELLITE
We’ll have full sunshine for at least this morning and part of the afternoon before clouds start creeping in. Winds will be light before a steady minor seabreeze starts to develop. That’ll help keep things slightly cooler at the immediate shores, but most places will get into the 55-60 realm today.
REGIONAL RADAR
Tomorrow, we’ll have clouds, some peeks of sun, and a very slight chance of showers as that elongated system drapes part of itself down our way. However, we’ll be on the “right” side of things and into the low to mid 60’s we go. (cooler at the immediate shore)
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
Our weekend continues to look iffy, although Saturday remains the mildest of the stretch. Staying conservative on the outlook temp-wise was the right way to go on this one. More clouds than sun as that front nears, will keep things in the 65-70 range and breaking 70 will be tough unless we get some extra sun. A southerly fetch will keep things much cooler along the south facing shores where most places will see 55-60. If we get a patch of clear skies during peak heating hours, we could add a couple of notches to our high temps; but on the flip side, if we hardly see any sun, we could also knock a few numbers off.
Sunday continues to look showery and cooler. We’re not talking a full washout, but expect on and off, showery conditions, and highs in the mid to upper 50’s.
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
As with our pattern the entire season, we’ll have a cool-off after our system passes by. There’s nothing extreme in the works as far as well below average air, but it’ll be seasonably cool. Look for 50-55 degree temps to start the week, then we’ll warm things up again late week with the approach of our next Great Lakes system.
