NYC Nasty Thursday Friday
Good morning everyone. Even though it’s showery this morning, today will be the last day for some sunshine before big rains and chilly/raw conditions move in. Halloween continues to look unseasonably chilly, then we return to near average temps Sunday, onward.

Hurricane Zeta will be making landfall along the SE Louisiana coast some time between late afternoon and early evening, then will be knocking on our door as remnants as quickly as tomorrow late morning/early afternoon.
In the meantime, we have some morning light rain and the majority of that energy is slipping just to our north. We’ll clear out in the afternoon and see some sunshine, then clouds will begin to increase again as we get set up for tomorrow and Friday. Highs today will be near 60, possibly breaking 60 if we get some extra sun earlier.
REGIONAL RADAR
Tomorrow and Friday are essentially a done deal as far as rain. Expect some scattered light morning rain tomorrow with dropping temps, then a raw afternoon with steadier rain. Winds will increase as well, and we should have a steady 15-20mph fetch from the NE, with gusts 25-30 by nightfall. Highs tomorrow will happen very early, and we’ll be dropping through the 50’s, then upper 40’s by evening.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
Friday will be a rough one as a secondary wave keeps the rain and clouds socked into the area. Colder air will lock in, and there could be some snow in higher elevations well upstate. Locally, we could see a few wet globs of snow mixed in before precip ends, and most likely you’ll see those globs best if you’re driving as they hit the windshield. It’ll be mostly rain though, and a cold one at that with highs in the mid 40’s at best.
Tomorrow night will be the coldest night of the season so far, with clearing skies and lows in the low to mid 30’s. 20’s will be possible away from the city, especially if the skies clear up, allowing some radiational cooling.
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
Halloween continues to look unseasonably chilly with sunny skies and breezy conditions. We’ll have highs in the mid to upper 40’s, and trick or treating will be chilly during the evening as we dip into the upper 30’s to low 40’s.
We bounce back on Sunday, but we could have a shower or two under clouds and sun. Highs will be in the 55-60 range.
