NYC Nice Day Today Unsettled Period Begins Tomorrow
Good morning everyone. We have a beautiful day out there today with a steady breeze, then we begin to turn towards a more unsettled period. This is not the long range changes we’re looking into, but more like the last gasps of the old pattern we’ve been seeing. Those gears will be turning slowly, and we should start seeing more robust and colder systems. What that means for the NYC Metro area remains to be seen though…
SATELLITE
Today will be the best day of our next 7-10 day stretch, with clouds & sun and highs in the low 50’s. If we can clear some of these clouds out, we could see a few mid 50’s. It’ll also be a breezy one with stiff westerlies in the 15-20mph range.
Clouds roll in tonight for good and we’ll have a rainy day tomorrow with mid 40’s. Rain might hold on into early Friday AM, but we should have some partial clearing in the afternoon. Look for highs in the mid to upper 40’s Friday depending on the sunshine.
WEATHER RADAR
Our weekend looks rather quiet, with sunshine and upper 30’s to low 40’s on Saturday. Clouds roll back in ahead of our next system for Sunday. We could see a scattered shower late, but I think most of the day is dry. Highs will be in the mid 40’s.
We slowly turn towards a colder pattern with deeper-diving systems coming out of the Northwest and into Texas. In theory, this should give us our best chance for some wintry weather, but that doesn’t always equate into major snows for NYC. We’ll keep an eye on it, but at minimum, we should see colder conditions and more robust systems with the steering mechanisms that are trending.
