WEATHER IN 5/JOE & JOE WEATHER SHOW PODCASTS
NYC Nice Weekend Rainy Gusty Monday
Good Saturday morning everyone. We have a beautiful weekend ahead for late November standards, but we also have a fairly big system heading our way for Monday. It’ll be one of those rainy, gusty ones where low pressure moves to our west, so don’t be surprised to hear a rumble of thunder, localized street flooding, and a few branches down here and there.
SATELLITE
For now, we have sunshine and comfortable conditions for this time of season. Expect mostly sunny skies today, light winds, and highs in the mid 50’s.
REGIONAL RADAR
Sunshine continues for most of the day tomorrow, then we’ll have increasing clouds late. We’ll have another comfortable day with highs in the low to mid 50’s depending on when those clouds start creeping in and when that wind shift happens.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
On Monday our rain-maker heads in. Low pressure will ride off to our west and up into upstate NY. That’ll help drag a frontal system through the area, starting with the warm front first, then a relatively strong cold front. We’ll start off with light rain and drizzle in the morning, then on and off rain heavy at times midday through the nighttime hours.
Along the immediate south-facing shore, some areas may see 25-35mph sustained winds with higher gusts. Areas away from the shore will just see a breezy time out of this, with higher gusts possible in the heavier showers and odd rumbles of thunder.
Localized flooding will be possible in poor drainage areas, especially as leaves clog the storm drains this time of year. Highs Monday will be in the upper 50’s to low 60’s.
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
We cool off for a breezy, sunny day on Tuesday and highs near 50; then we go chilly & sunny midweek with mid 40’s possible. Overall, a more active pattern is brewing and expect colder air behind these stronger systems. So far no snow is on the radar, but there’s enough cold air available for it if something tracks right, especially for upstate NY & New England.
