NYC Quiet But Hot Day Today
Good morning everyone. We have a quiet day today, but it’ll be a hot one. Then temps gradually dip through the rest of the week; and we continue to see a really pleasant Friday and Saturday on the way for you.
SATELLITE
Expect full sunshine today and low to mid 90’s. That area of energy coming down from the NW will spark some hefty storms this evening, but the timing is off as far as afternoon heating. That’ll most likely translate into some severe weather for interior spots, especially the Hudson Valley and extreme NY NJ, but storms may fizzle out before reaching the NYC Metro Area. We’ll keep the very slight chance of storms in the forecast just in case something ekes its way towards us before fully dying out.
WEATHER RADAR
Tomorrow we’ll have clouds and sun, the slight chance of a few scattered showers, and highs in the mid to upper 80’s. Thursday is “cold front day”, and I’ll be watching the radar for thunderstorm development in the afternoon. So far I’m not too impressed with the dynamics, but we’ll get a more definitive picture tomorrow.
A pleasant airmass moves in for Friday and Saturday, with breezy conditions, sunshine, low humidity, and low to mid 80’s for Friday. Lows Friday night may dip into the 50’s for parts of Long Island and NW of NYC, giving us an early September-night feel. Winds will settle down as Saturday goes on, and we’ll see more pleasant conditions with low 80’s. Temps will creep back up into the mid to upper 80’s Sunday with the slight chance of showers.
