NYC Hot Duo Ahead Then Late Week Cool-off
Good morning everyone. We’re still dealing with some wildfire smoke in the area, plus some extra (but expected) clouds this morning. It won’t matter though because hot weather is here today and tomorrow for a brief stay before we see transition days Wednesday and Thursday. Very comfortable weather pays a visit Friday and Saturday, then temps creep up again Sunday.
SATELLITE
Expect more clouds than sun this morning, then filtered sunshine as temps rise into the low 90’s throughout the area. Things are on the move a little faster than expected, and this will translate into shifting winds tomorrow instead of light northwesterlies. Look for winds swinging around to the southwest early, and that’ll help add some extra humidity to our low to mid 90’s tomorrow.
A spoke of energy will come down from the north late tomorrow evening/night, which may touch off a weak line of storms. The best chance to see some action in our area, looks to be northern parts of NYC, and the north shore of Long Island. Anything that does form may reach severe limits.
WEATHER RADAR
Wednesday we’ll be slightly “cooler” than originally thought, with mostly sunny skies, mid to upper 80’s, and the slight chance of a PM thunderstorm. We’re still watching that cold front for Thursday which means we’ll be watching that radar for showers and storms. Look for a humid mid 80’s, then cool and dry overnight.
Friday and Saturday look to be 2 of the best days of the summer in terms of comfort. We’ll have sunny, breezy, and dry conditions on Friday with low 80’s. Overnight, some areas NW of NYC may get a taste of early September as temps dip into the 50’s overnight. We repeat the gorgeous weather, minus the wind, and go for more low 80’s on Saturday.
We’ll creep back up into the mid to upper 80’s Sunday with the chance of a few showers or storms, but no washouts.
