NYC Quiet Week Ahead Dry Till Mid Month

Good morning everyone. Our first coastal system of the season is gone, leaving behind it cold air and stiff NW winds. The winds will gradually calm down tomorrow and onward, and we have nothing else going on whatsoever aside from below-average temps the next several days.

Sunny skies and stiff northwesterlies dominate today, with dry conditions and highs only near 40. That may not sound cold, but our average highs are still in the upper 40’s this time of year. Lows tonight will be below freezing, and they’ll hover in the upper 20’s to near 30. Away from the city, low to mid 20’s will not be uncommon, so bundle up those kids for school in the AM tomorrow.

Quiet weather continues tomorrow with light winds, with highs continuing in the near 40 realm and lows again in the upper 20’s to near 30. Again, it’ll be colder overnight away from the City.

Tuesday will be a carbon copy day from tomorrow, but we’ll modify the temps slightly on Wednesday. Expect highs in the low to mid 40’s, with lows in the mid 30’s for the City; colder away from the heat island.

For Thursday and Friday, sunshine and dry conditions continue, but we’re back to more comfortable conditions temp-wise. Look for highs near 50 and lows in the mid to upper 30’s.

Further down the road, we’ll watch the weekend for our next system, but for now the timing looks to be a Sunday/Monday thing. We’ll be in the “warm” sector for this one, and it’ll be all rain as low pressure races into the Great Lakes and Canada to our west.
