NYC RAIN ROUND TWO – Good morning everyone. Yesterdays dose of steady rain was on schedule and worked out as predicted. We had a decent amount of rain, as well as some localized flooding in poor drainage areas. As yesterday’s wave exits the area, we have a few breaks in the clouds and even a few stars can be visible in the night sky. While we enjoy the break, another wave is getting it’s act together in the southeast and will be pushing our way for the afternoon. Expect some early morning patchy fog, with steady rain in the afternoon, continuing into the night with a few rumbles of thunder possible. In areas where heavier rain sets up, we can once again see some localized flooding in poor draining areas, especially the notorious Belt Pkwy in the usual spots. Highs will reach near 60 even with clouds and showers around. For tonight’s Christmas Tree lightning at Rockefeller Center, be sure to bring an umbrella and dress accordingly, as the threat of rain will be around until about 10pm-midnight.
Sunshine returns Thursday, with breezy conditions and highs in the mid to upper 50’s.

A large swath of 1-1.5″ rainfall will saturate the area, giving us some much needed rain.
Our second round of rain is developing in the southeast and will be in our backyard by late morning.
Northeast quadrant shows our first wave of energy exiting Maine and into Nova Scotia as things starts to pop up in the North Carolina area.
Local Radar is quiet for now, but things will be picking up as the day goes on.
