NYC Rainy Afternoon Today Very Cold Overnight Tomorrow

Good morning everyone. Clouds are here as promised with our next system knocking on our door. That system represents very cold air moving in, and although impressive, the cold air won’t last very long.

Expect rain moving in by early to mid afternoon, and that rain holding off will help temps get into the low to mid 60’s today. We could see a few rumbles of thunder again, but severe weather in not expected in our region.

Rain continues on tomorrow morning, then should taper off in the afternoon. Temps will only be in the low to mid 40’s tomorrow, and snow is expected well upstate in the Adirondacks. Some areas may see a brief period of mixing or wet snow closer to the city before things end, but in NYC you may just see a wet glob here and there on your windshield at the very end.

The big story is the very cold air heading in Thursday night. The NYC Metro Area will see temps dipping into the upper 20’s to near 30, and interior areas of the Northeast could see teens, especially in higher elevations.

Friday is sunny, windy, and unseasonably cold. Highs will be in the low to mid 40’s at best.

Things settle down quickly over the weekend, where temps modify to the “seasonably cool” realm on Saturday with mid 50’s; then we go for mid 60’s and a mix of sun & clouds for Sunday.

Next week starts off mild as we continue those mid 60’s to start the week.
