NYC Rainy Day Thursday
Good morning. After a fairly nice day today, rain will be heading into the area by tomorrow morning. That’ll help bring about a decent and warm weekend, then we watch for intermittent unsettled weather, but warm as well.
SATELLITE
Sunny and comfortable conditions rule the roost today, with a light but steady maritime fetch, and highs in the mid 70’s.
Clouds increase tonight and we should have rain starting in the area between 5-7am in the morning. It’ll start out light, but we could see heavier rain with some rumbles of thunder by late morning. Localized flooding is possible in poor drainage areas and during the heaviest of rain.
It’ll be a muggy but cool upper 60’s to low 70’s tomorrow.
REGIONAL RADAR
We clear out in full for a sunny and relatively cool Friday. The sun will be strong, but low to mid 70’s is about as good as we do. We’ll also have stiff westerlies that’ll help dry things out quickly.
To start the weekend, sun still reigns supreme, but we’ll warm up quickly Saturday and into the 80-85 realm. Clouds begin to creep in on Sunday, and we could see an afternoon shower or storm with mid to upper 80’s possible depending on the sun factor.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
That Bermuda high I mentioned last week, tries to get itself established, but we might hang on the edge of it. This might translate into unsettled but warmer weather overall, with waves of energy riding up and around the high; giving us periods of showers and storms every 36-48 hours.
We’ll have to see the positioning of the high, plus any approaching systems, to see how next week works out. Stay tuned.
