NYC RAINY FALL TASTE TOMORROW – Good morning everyone! As promised, we have a beautiful Sunday unfolding, with bright sunshine, a light breeze, and temps slowly making their way up to non-humid low 80’s. Unfortunately, we pay for it tomorrow as a low pressure system emerges from the Mississippi Valley to bring us showers and possibly some thunderstorms from late morning tomorrow through tomorrow night. Temps tomorrow won’t make it out of the upper 60’s to low 70’s, so there will be a raw, fall feel to the air.
Things clear out for Tuesday and we should see partly to mostly sunny skies all the way to Friday. With low 80’s after tomorrow’s speed bump, we’ll be at or just slightly below normal.
In the long range, I’m thinking that our next chance of any meaningful rain will be either Sunday or Monday. With that, we’ll watch for any front-related bump-ups in temps and we continue to watch a couple of tropical features that could play a direct or indirect role in what the rest of August brings us.
As far as the marine forecast is concerned, gusty winds will make for a decent chop in the bays and 2-4ft seas from the inlets onward. It’ll be a no-go tomorrow with the approaching system, and the chop returns Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday as of now looks like the best day to be out there, with light southeasterly winds and a gentle ground swell.
