NYC Rainy & Raw Day Today

Good morning everyone. We have a rainy and raw day across coast sections of the Northeast and New England today, then another round will sweep through across much of the area later today through tomorrow morning. We are in the “mild” quadrant of this system, so little to no snow is expected aside from the highest elevations.

That same system and its trailing front, are responsible for heavy showers and thunderstorms ongoing throughout parts of Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana. Eventually, those thunderstorms will push into Kentucky and Tennessee late this morning and throughout the afternoon.

As those storms interact with the heating on the day and bump into relatively warmer and more humid air, we could see some isolated severe weather across parts of Kentucky. Look for the possibility of locally damaging winds, hail, frequent lighting, and torrential rain.

On the West Coast, we continue to watch a rather large storm transit areas of California, Oregon, and Washington. Gale force winds, heavy rain, and mountain snows are on the menu for today; then we’ll begin to watch for the next system like due in early Wednesday.

Clouds are here as is the rain today. Look for temperatures hovering in the upper 40’s for a raw feel. Rain continues tonight and into tomorrow morning, then we’ll have decreasing clouds and a mild day in the 55-60 degree range.

WEATHER RADAR

Clouds roll in again for Wednesday with PM rain likely. Highs should be near 50 throughout much of the area. Sunshine returns Thursday for a cool/chilly day in the low to mid 40’s.

The next system after that is a little complicated right now. Look for increasing clouds Friday morning with the chance of some light snow and/or cold rain. Highs in the upper 30’s.

Sunshine once again returns for Saturday, and we are expecting a blustery and cold weekend. Look for highs in the mid to upper 30’s Saturday, then upper 20’s to low 30’s for Sunday.
