NYC Rainy Time Ahead Then Cold Moves In

Good morning everyone. Clouds are still around as our piece-meal system gathers up another wave of moisture for us. It’ll take some time to get everything out, but the sun should return mid to late day tomorrow, with a price. Cold air will be heading in, and should actually be dense enough to stick around for 5 days if you include the dropping temps tomorrow.

Look for clouds, drizzle, and fog to be with us all day. Some showery weather could head in before sunset, but the main batch of moderate to heavy rain won’t be with us until overnight. We could also see a rumble or two of thunder as that cold front nears. Highs today near 50.

REGIONAL RADAR

That front has a tough time leaving tomorrow morning, so we may see a little bit more rain that should depart just after sunrise. Skies will begin to clear, but winds will increase; and by tomorrow afternoon, we’ll see some sunshine and dropping temps. Highs in the 40’s will transfer to low to mid 20’s overnight.

LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY

Colder air is with us through Monday, with upper 30’s to maybe near 40 temps Friday onward. Friday and Saturday are looking breezy and cold, then winds will calm down for Sunday and Monday. We’re looking dry the entire time, then the next chance of rain will be either Tuesday or Wednesday with modifying temps back into the 40’s and 50’s.

The long range continues to lack snow for the NYC area as of now, and that spring pop is still on the table mid-March, especially for the Midwest.
