NYC RECORD HEAT ATTEMPT PROLONGED HOTHOUSE
NYC RECORD HEAT ATTEMPT PROLONGED HOTHOUSE – Good morning everyone! We had a nice, hot, and relatively dry day yesterday, but now the fun begins as we go for some record high temps. It also looks as if it’ll be difficult to get rid of this heat for more than a day or two down the road.
For today, a blazing sun and light winds will help get the NYC area up into the mid 90’s. Tomorrow remains to be the hottest day of the stretch, with 95-100° temps throughout a large swath. With the record being 97°, we will be on the cusp of either tying or breaking it.
There’s no relief in sight as we turn up the juice and let the low to mid 90’s continue all week. Things will also be rather dry precip-wise as any major fronts will be lacking. Our first “chance” of relief may come next weekend, but as of now the front looks weak and the heat may return immediately; giving us another hot stretch into and until mid-July.
