NYC Recovery Week Begins Then Transfers Into Summer Mode

Good morning everyone. We are slowly coming out of the gloom that was Memorial Day weekend, and we should have much more comfortable temps this week regardless of any cloud cover or rain. More rain will pay a visit late week, but it won’t be anything like we had; then we go into summer mode this weekend and maybe a small stretch of hot weather next week.

For today, high clouds will filter some of our sunshine, but we’re not in a position to complain considering the last 4 days. Expect mid to upper 70’s throughout the area.

We’ll do a repeat tomorrow with more filtered sunshine and mid to upper 70’s, then begin to cloud up a bit more Thursday. That’s in response to a slow moving cold front that’ll also be slow to get out of the way. Look for mostly cloudy skies, humid conditions, and the chance of some scattered showers and storms Thursday. Highs a humid mid 70’s. We’ll keep some moisture and clouds around for Friday with the chance of some afternoon scattered showers and storms. We’ll be a touch warmer and on the humid side as well. Highs 75-80.

On Saturday, we begin to emerge towards a more summer-like pattern. We won’t be overtly humid, but it won’t be completely dry either. Expect a mix of sun and clouds, warm conditions, and highs in the low to mid 80’s. A few days ago, we talked about the potential for a very warm or hot day on Sunday, and I think we get it at this point. Sunshine should be able to push us into the upper 80’s to near 90, with an uptick in the humidity.

I think we keep the heat going to start next week, with upper 80’s to low 90’s possible next Monday thru next Wednesday at minimum.

Stay tuned and we’ll see how it all pans out.
