NYC Short Lived Cool Air Coming After Rain
Good morning everyone. Clouds have entered the picture with the help of an approaching cold front and low pressure system that’ll hang around in the Great Lakes. This system will help pull in Post-Tropical Storm Phillipe into Maine, giving them another bout of heavy rain and gusty winds. It’ll also wrap into our low pressure in the Great Lakes region, and help pull down cooler than average air into the Northeast for Sunday and Monday. The good news is that it modifies fairly quickly, and we’re back to 65-70 shortly thereafter.
SATELLITE
For today, clouds, fog, and mist are in and will take hold for the next 36 hours or so. Expect on and off showers later today, with humid upper 60’s to low 70’s.
WEATHER RADAR
Showers continue tomorrow with mid to upper 60’s, then cooler air begins to work its way in overnight tomorrow. Sunday is looking like a mix of sun and clouds, breezy and cool, with highs in the near 60 range.
For Columbus Day, we might 60 if that. The winds will calm down, but sunshine won’t help us much as we struggle in the upper 50’s.
Things turn around on Tuesday as milder air begins to return. Expect morning clouds and a slight chance of a shower ahead of that milder air, then PM sun and highs in the mid 60’s. Expect more sunshine on Wednesday, with highs 65-70.
