NYC Showery Day Today Then Dry Till Saturday

NYC Showery Day Today Then Dry Till Saturday

Good morning everyone. That rain we’ve been talking about the past couple of days has arrived and is giving the area a fairly good soaking. Flash flood watches are up for parts of New England, which is from the already-saturated ground from last week’s slow moving thunderstorms and Hurricane Lee. Other than that, our area in New York City is looking pretty quiet until the weekend.

Later on in the week, we are expecting a wave of low pressure to form off of the Southeast coast, then ride up the coast as high pressure blocks anything from going out to sea. As of now, it looks as if the majority of the energy will actually ride west of the NYC/Long Island area, giving interior parts of the Northeast the majority of the rain. Even so, we could see some showery conditions both Saturday & Sunday. We’ll be keeping an eye on that, meanwhile, enjoy the very quiet & simple workweek forecast below.

SATELLITE

Rain will eventually come to an end today, but the day is essentially “ruined” at this point. Look for cloudy skies, on & off showers, with MAYBE some blue breaks late in the day. Highs will be in the upper 60’s to low 70’s.

Tomorrow we’ll have sunshine and a steady breeze. It won’t be as windy as previously expected, but we will still have a steady 10-15mph NW flow. Highs will be in the mid 70’s.

WEATHER RADAR

Wednesday and Thursday are the best days of the bunch, with sunshine each day and light winds. Look for mid 70’s on Wednesday, then mid to upper 70’s Thursday.

Friday is looking pretty good as well, but we will increase the easterly fetch and have increasing clouds late. Highs will be int he mid 70’s, maybe cooler along the immediate coast.

storm free

Until I see otherwise, expect mostly cloudy skies both Saturday and Sunday with upper 60’s to low 70’s. We could see some on and off rain coming from our south off of the ocean and some breezy conditions.
