NYC SNOW MAPS EVOLVE POSSIBLE BLIZZARD CONDITIONS – Good evening everyone! If you’ve been paying attention to my forecast, I’ve stated that things could change and snow amounts may rise. This seems to be the case as all weather models are in general agreement now of a powerful system. All that remains to be seen now, is the final path and setup of the heaviest snow bands. A difference of 50 miles can make a big difference between 4-8″, 6-12″, and 1-2ft.

This is a new preliminary snow potential map. Keep in mind that the area of 1-2ft can expand/widen and/or shift over the NYC and Long Island area. For this reason, I will be giving a full update late tomorrow morning as this is a fluid situation. When you have storms such as this, it is almost impossible to forecast who will get the heaviest localized amounts, but we can give a good idea of the larger swaths of big amounts.
Also, temperature, wind, and snow intensity, may call for the need of Blizzard Watches and warnings as we watch things evolve. Have a great night and look for an update tomorrow by 11am.
