NYC Soaker Tonight Then Quiet Week Ahead
Good late morning and Happy Mother’s Day to all those out there who celebrate. I know if it weren’t for my mom, I wouldn’t be here to annoy all of you, so I think she’s a due a bit of a thank you. Anyway, we have a nice soaker coming in for tonight, and that’ll keep the grass green, the flowers blooming, and the leaves unfurling. Once this system departs, we have a quiet week ahead with maybe some seasonable temps late week.
SATELLITE
Expect increasing clouds today on your Mother’s Day, then the chance of a few showers later in the day. Most of the day looks dry, so don’t cancel any plans. Highs will be in the low to mid 60’s. Steadier and heavier rain moves in tonight, with most of the energy going to our north. Interior parts of NY and New England will see the heaviest and steadiest rain, but we’ll still see some much needed rain in our area to clear the pollen out of the sky temporarily.
Rain sticks around early tomorrow, then we’ll have partial clearing late. Highs will be in the low to mid 60’s again. Full sunshine returns Tuesday, but cool air sticks around. Look for low to mid 60’s Tuesday and Wednesday, then maybe we’ll see some 65-70 degree weather Thursday onward.
If things work out frontal system-wise and the positioning of high pressure, we could get into some 75-80 degree weather early the following week. This is not written in stone, but at least the chance is there. Let’s see how it works out.
