NYC Soaking Rain Expected Tomorrow

NYC Soaking Rain Expected Tomorrow

Good afternoon everyone. We have one more nice day today as clouds slowly increase, then a two-part soaker tomorrow as a cold front to our west draws up moisture from the Southeast & Mid-Atlantic. The good news is that it’s here and gone by Sunday, and we have a really nice workweek ahead.

Look for increasing clouds today and a very slight chance of scattered showers overnight. Highs today are where they’re at in the 65-70 range.

Tomorrow we’ll have rain in two batches. First, our coastal moisture will trek across the area from the SSW/SSE mid morning through early afternoon. This batch will give us the heaviest rain of the two, plus the chance of a few embedded rumbles. Our second batch of rain will be front-related and scattered in nature. With this one, the majority of the energy goes to our north. Highs will be a humid 65-70, cooler at the immediate shore.

WEATHER RADAR

Sunday is a winner as is most of the workweek. We’ll have increasing sunshine on Sunday with highs 75-80, then we tamper things down a bit for more sunshine and 70-75 degree temps Monday – Thursday.

I held off on Friday because Friday and the entire Memorial Day weekend remain tricky. Moisture will try and build along the Southeast & Mid-Atlantic coast again, similar to what we’re seeing today. The question is, will a front be able to clear it out by Monday? Or will moisture linger next Friday through possibly even next Tuesday or Wednesday.

We’re going to hold off and take a look at everything during the workweek next week.
