NYC Soggy Muggy Cloudy Weather Continues
Good morning everyone. We continue to be socked in with clouds and the chance of showers at any time during this period; but every day we go through this, is another day behind us. Our weekend is holding strong and we’ll discuss it below.
SATELLITE
The clouds will remain thick today, so we can scratch any chance of upper 70’s today. High dew points and low 70’s though will give things a warm and muggy feel. In between, we’ll throw some scattered fog into the mix, and the chance of showers at any point in the day. There won’t be any complete washouts, but outdoor activities will be hampered with brief showers that can pop up in a moments notice.
Tomorrow, will be more like yesterday in terms of precipitation. Cloudy skies will remain, 70’s will remain, and mugginess will still stick around. However, we’ll have a better shot at some rain and thunder, especially in the evening onward. This should be the beginning of the end, with our stationary front coming back as a warm front and fully transiting the area.
REGIONAL RADAR
The actual end comes on Friday as we wait for our cold front to finally clear things out. Look for morning rain, then some gradual clearing and drying out will take place. Once that front passes, expect it to get breezy/windy ; with gusty northwesterlies in the afternoon possibly in the 30-35mph range. Highs Friday will be in the upper 70’s to low 80’s, finally.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
Our weekend continues to look nice and I think we can safely include Sunday into the bunch now, as our more juicy air holds off till Monday/Monday night. Saturday is looking sunny, comfortable, and a diminishing breeze, highs in the upper 70’s to low 80’s. Sunday, we notch things up a bit with slightly warmer temps possible and sunshine continuing; highs 80-85 in most spots.
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
In our long range, we continue to look warmer and more humid. We could squeeze out one more nice one on Monday, but those temps are going to start to creep up. The possibility is there that we could repeat a warmer and more humid version of this week’s pattern with an increased chance of showers and storms; but overall the pattern is looking more summer-like as we dip our toe into the first week of July.
