NYC Spring On Its Way After Typical March

NYC Spring On Its Way After Typical March

Good morning everyone. Clouds have re-entered the picture with our fast-paced pattern continuing onward. We should see some light rain out of this, then we’re in and out of clouds and sun for the rest of the week. Spring continues to build even though it doesn’t feel like it, and the Country as a whole should see a fairly robust breakout between the first & second week of April.

As low pressure scoots to our south and strengthens as it pulls away, look for some light rain in the area between late morning and late afternoon. Clouds socked in and easterly winds blowing will help add a raw feel to the day as well, highs in the mid to upper 40’s at best.

Tomorrow we clear out and bring back the sunshine for a bit, with light northerlies and highs in the mid 50’s.

Clouds return overnight tomorrow, and we’ll have the slight chance of an AM shower on Friday, then a mix of sun and clouds late. Highs should range in the 55-60 degree realm depending on how much sunshine we get.

Your weekend is looking like a split deal, with Saturday being the better of the two. We’ll continue that mix of sun and clouds Saturday and keep the 55-60 temps, then clouds will increase overnight.

Showers should move in before sunrise Sunday, and we’ll have on and off rain, especially in the morning to early afternoon. Highs in the low to mid 50’s.

In the long range, these low 50 to near 60 temps seem to dominate throughout, with fast moving systems giving us much needed rain (because we had no snow pack). There continues to be signs of a break in the first week to second week of April, with lots of 60’s and 70’s breaking out to our west, then drifting our way. As with anything April-June, we’ll have to watch for those nuisance maritime highs fighting back, but we do seem like we’re taking the next steps in springtime for the Northeast.
