NYC SUNDAY WASHOUT THEN BRIEF BREAK

Good morning everyone. As expected, today is a complete loss unless you’re a duck or in the Ark building business. Rain has spread across the area, marking the end of this long voyage of gloom, but we have another one on the way after a brief break.

EASTERN SATELLITE

Today is an easy one, expect rain pretty much all day and temps remain steady; highs in the mid 50’s. Some time late evening, the last wave of low pressure will finally pull out and clouds will slowly begin to break up, paving the way for a beautiful Monday.

REGIONAL RADAR

Expect a sunny return tomorrow and a seasonably mild day. Highs in most spots will be in the upper 60’s to low 70’s, but we might see a few slightly higher readings in notoriously warmer spots.

For Tuesday, we squeeze out one more nice day (or at least mostly nice), before a cold front sags down from the north during the late afternoon/early evening. If we can remain sunny through the afternoon before bringing in the clouds after the crucial heating hours, 70-75 is a good bet with some warmer spots possible again.

We could see a round of showers, maybe even a rumble of thunder late afternoon Tuesday or Tuesday night. However, the way our cold front is arriving and the lack of available energy, will keep any action scattered and not everybody will see it.

That’ll help give us 1 more nice (but cool) day on Wednesday, before the gloom returns. Expect clouds and sun, highs in the mid to upper 60’s Wednesday.

The gloom, showers, and well below average temps return for Thursday, but we’ll hold off and break it down day by day like we did this past week.

Right now, Mother’s Day weekend looks iffy and everything hangs on the timing of these weak fronts sagging in and out of our area. We could squeeze off two cloudy, cool, and dry days, but you can’t make that call yet the way everything has been moving.
