NYC Very Hot Conditions May Persist PM Big Storms Expected Tomorrow
Good morning everyone. We have another very hot one today as we notch up the temps a little higher, then we keep that level of heat through Sunday. We’ll be watching very closely to see if we squeeze out some extended heat from this, because if we do, it builds a bridge to the next bubble of heat. If this comes to fruition, it could be a record breaking stretch of 90’s in our area.
SATELLITE
Expect sunshine, humid conditions, and mid to upper 90’s today; cooler along south facing shores and eastern Long Island.
We go for a repeat tomorrow, but add in the mix the chance of PM severe weather. We’ll be watching the radar between 2-6pm as a narrow, dotted line of severe weather develops to our west. Of course, it’ll be the same game to see if these storms survive, but with this heat, it’s very possible.
WEATHER RADAR
These storms won’t break the heat, but it’ll tamper down the humidity a bit for Friday. Steady westerlies will bring pizza oven-like heat to the area with mid to upper 90’s, and we could see some of those very hot temps visit parts of Long Island due to the different wind profile.
Saturday and Sunday remain very hot, and the humidity comes back as well. Expect mid to upper 90’s again.
To start next week, 90’s try to pay a visit again on Monday as a front approaches and another chance of some severe weather. Instead of cooling us off dramatically, Tuesday may be a very warm/hot & dry day with upper 80’s to low 90’s.
