NYC Very Quiet With Fall Bite Overnight Tomorrow

Good morning everyone. We’re into a very quiet week with a seasonable/seasonably cool start, then we modify quickly. Not before a little nip in the air overnight though, and that’ll remind you it’s mid-October and not early September.

Our cold front swung by yesterday late evening with little fanfare. A thin line of gusty showers and storms went north of most of the area, then we had a general band of rain pass through. We needed that since we’ve been pretty dry, and it also allows for some cooler air to pay a visit today and tomorrow. 63/64 is the average high for today depending on your source, and we’re still slightly above that today.

Look for sunshine, stiff northwesterlies, and highs in the mid 60’s. We could see a scattered shower if the Lake Effect is able to make the trek. Overnight we drop into the upper 40’s for a little chill in the air, slightly lower away from the City.

WEATHER RADAR

Tomorrow is the coolest day of the bunch, then we modify quickly. Sunshine and steady winds continue, with highs in the upper 50’s to low 60’s. The “big” story will be lows overnight as we dip into the mid 40’s, with low 40’s away from the City. Don’t be surprised to see some 30’s well upstate.

We snap back quickly on Tuesday with more sunshine and upper 60’s, then we go for 70-75 degree temps Wednesday and Thursday.

We’re watching a small system on Friday to see what happens precip-wise and temp-wise, but the weekend seems to be locking in.

Look for a mix of sun & clouds Saturday and on the seasonably cool side. Highs will be in the upper 50’s to low 60’s. We could see some extra clouds on Sunday as a coastal system fails to organize, and some upper 50’s if those clouds do impact the sunshine.
