NYC Quiet Warm Day Today Gusty PM Showers Tomorrow

Good afternoon everyone. We’re enjoying a really beautiful day today with many spots in the NYC area nearing 80 degrees. We’re at 80 already in some spots, specifically downtown Brooklyn and the Queens area around LGA, but many spots should touch 80 before the heating of the day shuts off. In the long range, I continue to watch a few interesting features, but I’m not sure they impact the overall mild temps. We could see a cool day here or there, or a 1-2 day cool shot, however, the air seems to modify fairly quickly.

After sunshine and 80 degree/near 80 degree temps today, we begin to cloud up tomorrow and increase the humidity a bit. The energy from our approaching cold front still goes way north of us, but a narrow tail of precip may’ve us some late afternoon/evening gusty showers/rumbles. I believe they will be brief in nature, then the temporary cool off begins. Look for highs in the 75-80 range depending on the sunshine, and we’ll go breezy ahead of that front.

Sunshine returns Sunday and we’ll be much cooler, but still at or just a hair above average. Expect mid 60’s with very dry conditions.

WEATHER RADAR

Monday looks like the coolest day of the workweek as sunshine continues. Low 60’s will grace us, which would be at or just a hair below average.

We quickly modify things on Tuesday, and that’s what I’m talking about with this pattern. We’re back into the upper 60’s Tuesday already, then back to low 70’s Wednesday and Thursday.

For late week and next weekend, we’ll be watching a more vigorous system for the timing and strength. If we can get this thing out of here Friday, look for a breezy and cool weekend. If not, we may hang onto some mild air Friday and some rain on Saturday.

We’ll watch it all and get it all into focus.
