NYC Warm Day Tomorrow With Severe Storms Lurking

Good late morning everyone. We are fully into our transition to more spring-like or even summer-like weather, but there are going to be baby steps and hiccups along the way. First will be a warm & humid day with a price to pay tomorrow, a beautiful day Saturday, but it can’t hold together as cooler air sneaks in. Warmer air tries to return mid-week, but a coastal low/cut-off low squashes that idea; although that warm is coming regardless, just delayed.

SATELLITE

Sunny skies with a few patches of clouds rule today, with a light breeze and mid to upper 60’s. Thats slightly cool for this time of year, but it’ll be comfortable regardless.

We’ll have the slight chance of a few showers overnight with warmer and more humid air coming in for tomorrow. We actually only drop a little bit as far as low temps, with lows only in the upper 50’s to low 60’s.

REGIONAL RADAR

storm free

Tomorrow will be unsettled but not a total washout. Warm and humid air is here, and depending on the sunshine, we’ll be in the upper 70’s to low 80’s. We’ll have the slight chance of a few scattered showers and storms throughout the day, then a better chance overnight. Most of the action will be to the north of us and interior sections to our west, but we’ll have to see if anything sneaks in.

Any storms that do form may reach severe limits, with strong gusty winds, frequent lightning, and hail possible.

LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY

storm free

Saturday remains the better of the two days for our weekend, with full sunshine, a light NW flow, and highs in the 75-80 range all the way to the coast.

Clouds begin to creep in overnight Sunday and into Monday, and we’ll have the chance for some steady rain developing as low pressure develops in the southeast over the ocean, but interacts with a front and low pressure to our west.

LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
storm free

That low pressure to our west will get caught up and slow to move out, delaying our 80 degree temps Wednesday & Thursday. Once it pulls out, some very mild to warm air should move in, and next weekend has the chance to be a fairly decent one.
