NYC Warm Temps Squelched With Marine Layer Dominant
Good morning everyone. As stated yesterday, we were going to have a real problem trying to reach our anticipated 80 mark with the marine layer and morning fog fighting back hard. This will spill over into tomorrows forecast, where a meandering low pressure in the southeast will bring the chance of some showers. Our best chance for 80 or near 80 temps, remain on Friday, possibly briefly on Saturday.
SATELLITE
We’ll do the morning clouds, fog, and drizzle again, then late clearing and temps in the low to mid 70’s. Humidity will increase as well, but not uncomfortable levels yet.
REGIONAL RADAR
Low pressure will bring the chance of a few showers throughout the day on Thursday, but not before the usual morning fog, drizzle, and low clouds first. It’ll be a touch cooler with the cloud cover thicker and for longer. Highs in the low 70’s & humid.
Friday looks to be the most humid and warmest of the days as that cold front nears our area. That’ll set us up for cool and dry late weekend into next week, but not before pumping up warmer and more humid air, with a few showers & storms. Highs Friday in the upper 70’s to possibly low 80’s.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
Mild air will linger on Saturday as that front clears by very slowly. Because of that, we’ll have the chance of a few showers, especially in the morning. We’ll have partial clearing late, and mid to upper 70’s as highs.
Skies will clear out, a breeze will develop, and we’ll have a dry but seasonably cool day on Sunday. Most areas will see highs in the low 70’s and comfortable conditions.
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA

Seasonably cool and dry will be the name of the game next week, but we’ll be watching the Gulf for tropical moisture heading in. It’s really not the “season” for rip-roaring Gulf hurricanes, but we could have a weak to moderate feature to deal with. Eventually, that moisture will head into the Southeast, and that may help pump up some very humid air into the area; even if we remain in the 70’s.
MANY THANKS TO TROPICAL TIDBITS FOR THE USE OF MAPS
