NYC Warmth Arrives Today Hot Four Day Stretch Ahead
Good morning everyone. That pesky low pressure with its turtle-like speed, finally into New England. We have one more spoke of moisture that parts of NJ is dealing with, but overall the rainy, cloudy, and gloomy weather is behind us. Hot weather settles in tomorrow, and we are watching the tropics for some weekend action in Florida.

Low pressure is finally spinning away, giving us a mix of sun & clouds today, muggy weather, and the slight chance of showers and storms. Parts of NJ such as Perth Amboy and Sand Hook, are experiencing the localized gloom we have for the past 2 days, and that moisture will slip to the south of us. There’s a slight chance it may clip the south shore of LI, so we’ll watch the radar closely. Highs today will be in the 85-90 range.
WEATHER RADAR
Hot weather settles in tomorrow, with mostly sunny skies, the slight chance of a storm, and highs a humid low to mid 90’s. Thursday will be the hottest day of the stretch, with mostly sunny skies, the slight chance of a storm, and highs 95-100. We keep things going on Friday with more low to mid 90 action, and again, the slight chance of a storm.
Your weekend is a split prospect, with more near 90 conditions on Saturday and the slight of a storm; then we cool back down into the low to mid 80’s on Sunday with the slight chance of some showers.
In other news, the tropics are heating up a bit as well, which is very common this time of August after a July lull. We’re watching an impressive wave off of Africa, but we have a while to go on that. The main story is our Tropical Depression southeast of Puerto Rico moving WNW at a fairly good clip. This will most likely wind up being Tropical Storm Fred, and we’ll watch to see how much Fred interacts with land. The amount of interaction with Puerto Rico, Hispaniola, and Cuba, will determine what it looks like once it reaches South Florida. As of now, regardless of whatever form he is, it looks as if the tropical energy will be near Florida some time on Saturday/Sunday.
