NYC Very Hot Weather Settles Into Area

Good morning everyone. We’re into the hottest part of this airmass that moved in yesterday, and then things begin to settle down with a split weekend. Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Fred has been downgraded to a depression, but may pose a problem for Florida this weekend. Regardless of what happens, it’s also expected to throw off our weather a bit, and 90’s won’t be making a return as fast or at all next week.

For today, an early mix of sun and clouds will break outing full sunshine, very hot conditions, and very humid. We’ll climb into the 95-100 realm, and high humidity will make things feel like 105-110. This is why we have excessive heat warnings/advisories today and tomorrow. We also have the slight chance of a late thunderstorm. Low’s tonight will only dip into the 75-80 range.

We’ll keep that very hot weather going as well as the slight chance of a thunderstorm tomorrow. Expect more 95-100 degree conditions, and an increased chance of storms overnight. Lows again in the 75-80 range.

WEATHER RADAR

Our cold front will make the full passage on Saturday, but not before we have another humid and very warm day. We’ll have the chance of a few scattered showers, sun & clouds, and highs 85-90.

Sunday looks likes a more comfortable day, with another mix of sun & clouds and highs in the low 80’s.

Tropical Depression Fred has weakened, but has the potential to fire up again. At minimum, it should attain Tropical Storm status again, but I a little leery when things enter the Gulf. We’ll see how close it stays to land, but a 50 mile jog to the west could mean the difference in Fred becoming a hurricane. Regardless, Fred shoaled be affecting Florida by Saturday, and the timeline is looking pretty solid.
