NYC Another Very Hot Day Tomorrow Not Very Active

Good morning everyone. We have our last very hot day today before we “cool” off a little bit tomorrow, then really cool off on Sunday. An active pattern will keep us on the average/slightly below average side till Thursday or Friday, then we may see some front-related heat. We continue to watch the tropics as things get more active, and Fred looks to cause some issues along the eastern Gulf. We’re also watching another disturbance approaching the Lesser Antilles, which will most likely become Tropical Storm Grace.

Today is an easy one, with sunny skies, very hot conditions, and highs 95-100 again. High dew points will help make those temps feel like 105-110, and we’ll have the slight chance of a storm. As that cold front approaches, we’ll have a slightly better chance of storms overnight, but most of the action looks inland.

WEATHER RADAR

Tomorrow I don’t see much of a fuss. Some weather outlets are essentially calling a washout, yet I hardly see any rain at all. I’m going to die on this hill, but I’m calling for the chance of a few AM showers, then the slight chance of a stray storm in the afternoon. I see most of the energy going to the north of us, and we’ll have a fairly warm/hot day with clouds and sun. Highs 85-90.

Sunday is cooler, less humid, with full sunshine returning. Highs in the low 80’s.

Low 80’s will continue through at least Wednesday with a few reinforcing shots of comfortable air. Our next front approaches some time between Thursday and Saturday, which may increase the heat and humidity temporarily before we get into cooler air again. That being said, we need to watch the timing of next weekend’s front and where Grace may be. If the front is lined up along the east coast as Grace nears, it could be problematic for the east coast.
