NYC One More Very Warm/Hot Day Today Nice Tomorrow
Good morning everyone. Just as expected, most of this morning’s energy is going to the north of us and rain has missed the area aside from a light shower skipping across the extreme north shore of Queens & Long Island. We still have our cold front out to the west, so we have one more very warm/hot day today, then things are pleasant tomorrow.
SATELLITE
Look for some morning sunshine, then a mix of sun and clouds this afternoon; highs near 90. As far as precipitation is concerned, I continue to not see what other outlets are seeing. We’ll keep an eye on the radar for a stray shower or storm this afternoon, but I believe most of the energy will go to our north and to our south.
Tomorrow we go pleasant with sunshine, a light northerly flow, lower humidity, and highs in the low 80’s.
WEATHER RADAR
Low 80’s continue through midweek, but the humidity won’t stay low for long. We’ll have another pleasant one on Monday with low 80’s, but humidity begins to increase late in the day/overnight. We’ll only dip down to near 70, which is a sign the mugginess is coming back.
Regardless, we keep the low 80’s Tuesday with the slight chance of a shower under a mix of sun and clouds; then more clouds move in with the slight chance of scattered showers Wednesday. Highs again in the low 80’s.
In the tropics, Fred has almost completely missed south Florida, and is taking a wider turn with more time over the open eastern Gulf. As of now, the NWS/NHC has it as a landfalling tropical storm near the panhandle of Florida or slightly west. Things can happen quickly in the Gulf, so we’ll continue watching to see if the numbers are “low-balled” in terms of dealing with a stronger storm or not.
Also, Tropical Storm Grace has formed as expected, and we’ll be watching to see if it interacts with Puerto Rico and Hispaniola. If she goes north of the islands, we could be dealing with a pretty significant system.
