NYC WIND COLD CONTINUE WET WEEKEND AHEAD

NYC WIND COLD CONTINUE WET WEEKEND AHEAD

Good afternoon everyone. Cold and windy conditions continue this afternoon, with some sprinkles and/or scattered wet flurries moving across the Forks of Long Island. The likelihood of a wet weekend is not going away, and we still have eyes on mid-week next week for some wintry precip possible.

EASTERN SATELLITE

Expect cloudy skies to remain as highs have only managed near or slightly above 40 degrees. Wind chill values remain in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s depending on how hard the wind blows, and some scattered wet flakes/sprinkles are making it across the sound at times.

REGIONAL RADAR

Windy weather continues tomorrow, but at least the sun will be out. Highs remain below normal for this time of season and expect wind chills in the 30’s again tomorrow.

LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY

Increasing clouds for Friday remains on the menu with a slight chance of showers, but at least the wind will essentially turn off. Then we watch the approach of our weekend’s system that’ll dump another 1-3″ of rain. Flash flooding could be an issue on the roads come Saturday night, then Sunday remains looking gloomy.

For those are are curious about mid-week next week, I discuss the scenario here if you want to click and read. As of now, it all comes down to timing and path and is too soon to pinpoint. I’m just throwing it on the table so there’s no surprises in case it does tilt in favor of frozen precip.
