NYC Wind Driven Rain Thunder Overnight
Good morning everyone. The core of the mild air is over us as we speak as are the clouds and increasing winds. That’s ahead of a very vigorous low pressure/front system that’ll bring us strong winds overnight tonight, and the chance of some heavy rain and rumbles of thunder. Behind it, not much is going on aside from a big temp drop tomorrow and a chilly weekend, but we play the game again next week with another “rhyming” system.
SATELLITE
Clouds are already here today, but you might see a few blue spots. We’ll have highs near 60, with some spots even milder west of NYC. Highs along south facing shores will suffer with the wind off of the cold ocean, and they will also see the highest winds when the front nears. Throughout the day, winds will gust between 30-40 mph, then increase overnight.
Overnight, heavy rain and a few rumbles of thunder move in. Gusts will increase to the 45-50 mark in NYC, but coastal areas could see gusts in the 50-60mph range. Some spots may even break 60, especially out in Suffolk and the Forks.
WEATHER RADAR
If you’re up early enough tomorrow, you may see some early rain. Mid 50’s will grace us early, but temps drop through the 40’s as we go on. We’ll have increasing sunshine and blustery conditions.
Your weekend is looking sunny & chilly, with highs near 40 each day. More mild air heads in to start the week, and we’ll see some more rain with our next system as well.
