PRELIMINARY JULY FOURTH OUTLOOK
PRELIMINARY JULY FOURTH OUTLOOK – Good early afternoon everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying this fine, breezy, and dry day. Everything looks to be on schedule as we turn up the notch a bit tomorrow with mid 80’s and a strong, southerly breeze, but it’ll still remain somewhat comfortable. Then the humidity creeps back in overnight tomorrow to make for a hot and humid Friday and Saturday with highs 85-90. In some areas, we could crack 90, plus for good measure a chance of a scattered thunderstorm each day.
On Sunday, the temps cool off slightly, but humidity increase with a front approaching the NYC area. This will give us an increased chance of a few storms, some of which could be severe, but we’ll have to wait and see what organizes since the dynamics are looking weak to moderate as of now.
Humidity breaks for Monday, but we remain seasonably warm with highs in the mid 80’s. As of now, July 4th is looking like we’ll have clouds and sun, highs in the mid 80’s. A weak area of energy may transit the NYC area on the night of July 4th or during the day next Wednesday, so we’ll have to wait and see if it touches off a few widely scattered showers for firework time, or it waits till the morning.
Either way, Wenesday looks to be a transition day, with hot and humid weather returning late week next week before another 2-4 day break after a 4-5 days of heat. As I said in my long range forecast, so far this is shaping up to be a “summer for everybody” in terms of the wide array of weather conditions and what people feel comfortable with.
