QUIET NYC WEDNESDAY PARADE FORECAST HOLDS

Good morning everyone. We have a decent day unfolding here in the New York City area, with a bonus dry day tomorrow. Meanwhile, everything remains on schedule for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, and for St. Patrick’s Day itself on Sunday.

EASTERN SATELLITE

After a sunny start, expect clouds and sun today. We’ll shut the wind machine off and modify the temps as well, highs in the upper 40’s to maybe low 50’s.

Tomorrow, we warm up even more as that stretched out system starts making its way into our area. Clouds will be in and out all day, but we go 55-60 for most of the area. Away from the coast, low 60’s aren’t out of the realm of possibilities.

REGIONAL RADAR

Rain holds off for most of Thursday night as that system really stretches out and the front weakens a bit as it swings towards us. Expect most of the rain to happen on Friday, but even then, it’ll be on and off. We could also see a few rumbles of thunder Friday.

I’m still staying conservative on the highs, with a humid 55-60. However, if the timing is right and fog/mist/drizzle can hold off, we could see some low to mid 60 readings. The coastline will be a different story though as winds whip off the cold water and we’ll be much cooler at the shore; so don’t expect mid 60’s at Rockaway Beach.

Your St. Patrick’s Day weekend forecast is holding strong as everything pulls away Friday night, giving us a dry, seasonal, sunny and breezy day on Saturday. Expect highs in the upper 40’s to low 50’s before cooler air works in for Sunday. St. Patrick’s Day itself on Sunday is looking breezy, cool, and dry, highs in the mid 40’s.
