Relatively Hot NYC Weather Continues Until Late Sunday
Good morning everyone. Deep summer weather continues, but it won’t last even after a fairly long stretch. We have approx. 6 more days of upper 80’s to near 90 temps (if you include today), then a backdoor front seems to alleviate some of that heat, but only temporarily.
SATELLITE
Our forecast is holding strong as we are on cruise control through this very warm to hot period. Expect near 90 temps today, with some spots breaking 90. The beaches will be slightly cooler, but not by much. We still have the slight chance of storms, but even that chance looks to concentrate more inland.
REGIONAL RADAR
Tomorrow, a weak cold front will give the area a slightly better chance of some showers and storms, but the action won’t be very widespread. Look for near 90 temps again with humid conditions, and another perfect beach day.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
Humidity drops Thursday, but the heat sticks around. Expect sunny skies with upper 80’s to near 90 temps both Thursday and Friday, then humidity begins to increase again on Saturday as near 90 temps remain.
For Sunday, the change begins but not before we have one more hot day. Upper 80’s to near 90 temps are expected once again, then a backdoor cold front should drop through some time late evening or overnight.
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
We could be a little more unsettled Monday through Wednesday, with more clouds at minimum and a more northerly or northeasterly flow. It won’t severely impact temps, but we should sink down to the upper 70’s to low 80’s if there’s any rain around, or low to mid 80’s if it’s dry.
The heat will try to return some time around July 4th or later, and a southwesterly flow will once again become the dominant feature.
