Sally Takes Aim At Eastern/Central Gulf & Crisp Air Expected This Weekend Here
Good morning everyone. We continue to have a lot going on here and not enough headline room to cover it all. Sally is on its way to hurricane status, and may strengthen rapidly before her center goes just east of New Orleans. Hurricane Paulette goes right over Bermuda for the Hail-Mary call almost 2 weeks ago, and some deep Fall air is expected here by this weekend in the NYC area.
SATELLITE
Look for some morning clouds here in the metro area, then some brightening. A west breeze will help dry us out, and temps are excepted to climb into the upper 70’s to near 80.
REGIONAL RADAR
The cooler air lags a bit, and will really settle in tomorrow for a day before we begin to warm up again. Things are moving fast, so every airmass will be short-lived. We’ll have sunny skies, breezy conditions, and highs in the upper 60’s to low 70’s.
We’ll already warm up on Wednesday, but it’ll still be a nice day under sunny skies, less wind, and highs in the mid to upper 70’s.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY
Thursday looks to be the warmest day of the week, with slightly more humidity and highs near 80 under a mix of sun & clouds. We’ll have the chance of a few showers overnight and into Friday morning as our next front nears.
If the timing is right front-wise, our weekend will be sunny and breezy, very October-like, with highs only in the upper 60’s. Lows overnight could dip into the upper 40’s in spots.
LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA
For the tropics, I’m going to defer to Joe Cioffi for a couple of days. Tune into him for the latest on a very busy period in our tropics.
MANY THANKS TO TROPICAL TIDBITS FOR THE USE OF MAPS
