Thanksgiving Forecast Evolving Away From Showery And Mild

Thanksgiving Forecast Evolving Away From Showery And Mild

Good morning everyone. We have a cloudy start today with some scattered showers possible as cooler air is knocking on our door. It’s nothing we’re not used to already this season, and won’t be the coldest air we’ve seen, but there will be a noticeable difference between today and tomorrow. Plus, we have some steadier rain heading in for the 2nd part of our weekend; and for the first time in 3 years, I have to intercept my own Hail-Mary forecast before it lands. Things are speeding up, so the original Thanksgiving forecast may happen 12-24hrs prior.

Look for mid-level clouds to keep things grey across the area this morning. We could also see a period of showers late morning through early afternoon. Sunset may be visible if things clear out fast enough, but at minimum, I think we see a few blue patches before the sun goes down. Highs today in the mid 50’s early and a gusty wind ahead of our cold front.

Tomorrow we dial back the winds, but cool air is here. Sunny skies will do little to warm us up, and we’ll have ourselves a chilly day with low to mid 40’s. Clouds will increase in the evening, and that’ll represent a more significant system compared to today.

Steady rain moves in overnight tomorrow, and that should be with us Sunday till around 11am-1pm. Once the steady stuff ends, expect scattered sprinkles and light showers. Highs tomorrow in the mid 40’s, with a breeze picking up once everything passes.

To start our week, we are looking seasonal and dry both Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday will be the milder of the two, then clouds will increase for our next system Wednesday.

Wednesday’s system will take the “warm” path much like today’s. If everything times out correctly, expect 55-60 degree temps, and some showers possible.

That leaves us with Thanksgiving, as our mild and showery day happens prior instead of on Thanksgiving itself. In theory, that should put us on the sunny, windy, and chilly path, with highs in the mid 40’s.

There’s still a wild card, with energy lagging behind just as today’s cold front transfers into Sunday’s rain. If highs pressure can keep everything suppressed, you’ll get your windy, chilly day, with dry conditions.
