Very Mild NYC Day Today Gloom Returns Wednesday

Good morning everyone. We have a beautiful day ahead of us with sunny skies and mild temps, but with this fast moving pattern, you know gloom isn’t too far away. This will be the story as we head into the 2nd and 3rd week of April, as we fail to string together several nice & mild days.

SATELLITE

Any clouds this morning will give way to sunshine by mid/late morning. Light northerlies will help give us that sinking air effect we like to see in our area this time of year. This helps provide fast warming air and low humidity, and also provides a mild push all the way to the immediate shore. Look for 65-70 degree temps today throughout the area, with the warmest temps in downtown Brooklyn and Central Queens.

REGIONAL RADAR

Some clouds return tomorrow with our next system approaching tomorrow night and Wednesday, but we should squeeze out one more mild one before the rain returns. Expect highs in the 60-65 range tomorrow under clouds and sun/increasing clouds.

LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY

We’ll have some morning showers Wednesday, then the clouds stick around. We may break 60 one more times Wednesday, but it all depends on when the rain exists and how thick the cloud cover is thereafter. For now, we’ll go with upper 50’s to low 60’s as highs.

Showers return Thursday afternoon and temps slowly begin to creep downward. Highs in the mid to upper 50’s. We’ll clear out Thursday night into Friday for a sunny day on Friday, but cool air is with us as we only do our usual mid 50’s.

LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA

55-60 degree temps rule for next weekend with sunshine to start, then clouds creep in Sunday with the slight chance of some rain. Overall, we’re having a tough time hitting our stride with prolonged mild weather; and instead, only seeing a day here or there with either mild air ahead of a fast moving system, or a mild day behind a weak system.
