WEEKEND COOL WARM RAINY SPLIT
WEEKEND COOL WARM RAINY SPLIT
WEEKEND COOL WARM RAINY SPLIT – Good morning everyone. The gloom is back from the 15 minutes of sunshine we enjoyed late yesterday afternoon. We’re looking for a pattern change to happen, but we still have 2 days (kinda 3) to endure these cloudy and rainy conditions. Then, things look to change (somewhat) over the course of the next few days.
Clouds remain stubborn today and that maritime fetch will linger on. Look for cloudy skies, a stiff east wind, and the chance of a few showers; highs in the low 60’s. Due to that prolonged easterly wind, minor coastal flooding is possible at times of high tide tonight. It’ll be mostly nuisance flooding, but areas such as Rockaway, Broad Channel, Long Beach, Baldwin, Freeport, Lindenhurst, and other flood prone areas, should take note so that your car isn’t sitting in a few inches of salty bay water.
For tomorrow, the garbage continues with on and off steady rain throughout the day, a raw, east wind, and upper 50’s to low 60’s. It’ll be a great day for staying home or doing some indoor shopping; other than that, it’s a loss.
Sunday is looking like the better of the two days as we finally get into some warmer air. However, clouds remain as does the threat of a shower or thunderstorm. As far as severe weather, the threat is very low and most of the action (isolated action) will be interior PA and upstate NY. It’ll be a humid one and highs will be wide-ranging depending on if we get any peaks of sun. Look for humid conditions as well with winds swinging over to the southwest; highs in the mid 70’s to low 80’s.
To begin our week, Monday is looking grand; with bright sunshine, dry conditions, and mid to upper 70’s.
