YOUR LATE JULY NYC WEEKEND FORECAST – Good morning everyone. The last weekend of July is here and NYC will experience a nice one….for the most part.

For today, very warm and humid conditions lag behind the energy that gave parts of the area some very strong storms yesterday evening. Look for clouds and sun, more sun than clouds at times, and the slight chance of a strong thunderstorm in the afternoon. Most of the action, if any at all, will be concentrated north of the City; but northern spots of the City and the north shore of Long Island could see a boomer. Highs today will be a muggy upper 80’s.

Tomorrow, a northerly flows dries things out very nicely, giving us a pleasant, seasonable day. Humidity will drop to respectable and more comfortable levels, and sunny skies/light winds will make mid 80’s seem delightful compared to the tropical weather we’ve had the past several days.

To start the week, Monday is looking like a carbon copy, but a shift in winds will signal the return of tropical and showery weather for the rest of the week as humidity and muggy conditions accompany mid 80’s.

I’m going to hold off on the long range for now as we try and sort out the prospects of some extended hot weather. It’s possible we could string together some hot days, but a break in the chain will technically dash the term “heatwave”. Still, a few hot days are possible and we’ll have to decipher how long it’ll last and how hot it may get.
